Why are we so passionate about ending hunger?
million people in the world do not have enough to eat.
Poor nutrition causes nearly half of deaths in children under five - 3.1 million children each year.
The year by which we can eradicate world hunger
Hunger kills more people every year than AIDS, malaria & tuberculosis combined.
In 2014 and 2015 we split our donations evenly between two amazing organizations who are making a real impact on ending hunger, Action Against Hunger and the World Food Program. Each year, Action Against Hunger shares with us a report outlining how our specific contributions made a real difference. Check them out below:
One Complete = One Meal
Since 2014 we have committed all of our donations to one cause – ending childhood deaths from hunger and malnutrition. Every complete delivered by Research For Good generates food for a hungry child around the world.
Our original passion in creating Research For Good as a way to generate donations for nonprofit organizations through survey completions has never wavered. Our mission to maximize the donations we can make to causes around the world, is core to everything we do and shapes every business decision we make.
Where does the money go?
Thorough research into the organizations aligned with our corporate mission of ending global hunger brought us to an organization we feel is doing the most good, and with the most efficiency – meaning that the highest % of the money donated is going to the actual cause and not to overhead and fundraising efforts.
Action Against Hunger provides lifesaving assistance and restores self-sufficiency to millions of people in over 40 countries.
How does a complete equal a meal? How does RFG sample save lives?
For every completed survey, we allocate a small donation, roughly equivalent to the cost of feeding someone one basic meal. Sure that doesn’t sound like a lot, but when you consider that we’re doing tens of thousands of surveys each month, that quickly adds up to a significant contribution. We tally the donation totals and donate the cumulative amount to Action Against Hunger on a quarterly basis.
According to our charity partner, Action Against Hunger just $45 can provide lifesaving treatment for a malnourished child. – Action Against Hunger
However, we must also be clear, while “meal” or a “life” is a clear and concise representation of where our money is going, it’s more than just food on a plate that our charity partners are providing. Our donations also go towards education, farming support, emergency relief, clean water and sanitation. As the saying goes: Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
